I will discuss this difference and talk about quantum chemical approaches needed to properly describe\u00a0excited\u00a0states. I will then present examples from our research to demonstrate how one can obtain valuable insights about experimental observations from a proper theoretical description\u00a0of\u00a0molecular\u00a0excited\u00a0states.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bio-sketch\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0speaker:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Anirban Hazra\u00a0has been a faculty member at IISER Pune since 2011. He got his integrated masters from IIT Bombay, PhD from Princeton\u00a0university, and he did a postdoc at Penn State University. His research is on\u00a0the\u00a0fundamental understanding\u00a0of\u00a0excited\u00a0state molecular phenomena using theoretical methods.
