Overview

Department of Physics focuses on Undergraduate and Graduate Education, and Research in fundamental and applied areas. The department offers BS-MS course, Integrated PhD and regular PhD courses.

The BS-MS course has a taste of Physics with possibilities for exploring courses from other departments for those who love Interdisciplinary Knowledge. Our laboratory has high-end equipment like Scanning Tunnelling Microscope, X-Ray Diffraction, Millikan ‘s oil drop experiment, Photo-electric effect, Zeeman effect, Michelson interferometer, Speed of light detection, etc., to list a few.

PhD research areas include Astrophysics, High-Energy Physics, String Theory, Condensed Matter Physics, Soft Matter Physics, and Optics. The Department family are working in these research areas in both experimental and theoretical aspects.
