Job Description
Regular full-time faculty members teach assigned classes in accordance with established guidelines and policies. Faculty participate in advising, committee assignments, other academic and institutional support activities. SLTech utilizes a faculty model that includes tracking and reporting student progress and employment outcomes; student and community access; and employer engagement. Program coordinator responsibility may be assigned.

Work with community partners on efforts to support ESL students.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications
OR
Bachelors in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, Linguistics with a TESL certificate, Applied Linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate AND Masters in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, English, Composition, Bilingual/Bicultural Studies, Reading, Speech or any foreign language
Preferred Qualifications
2. Experience in teaching ESL in learning communities with other departments at the College.
3. Experience in teaching ESL for local companies in the community.
5. Experience in working with community partners to support ESL students.
7. Experience with collaborative assessment and curriculum development in the areas of career/technical education and/or English for academic purposes.
8. Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population.

- Ability to effectively communicate as well as work with all groups in diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background including those with disabilities within our community
- Ability to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to successfully work with adult learners
- Ability to work with students, colleagues, community partners and employers
- Demonstrate:
- organizational skills
- knowledge of current language acquisition theories and teaching practices
Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties Special Instructions
Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2023.
Salt Lake Tech Faculty are issued a 12-month, year round appointment.
Priority Review Date May 11, 2023 : Applications received by the priority review date will receive priority in screening.
