Abstract: 

We will discuss the unusual behavior of light traveling in a medium with special properties. In particular we discuss experiments where light travels at very low speeds and at speeds larger than the velocity in vacuum. Also, light can have negative group velocity. These results are consistent with special theory of relativity and causality.
